What Happens During Your Physio Exercise Rehab Session
During your physio exercise rehab program with your physiotherapy assistant, some of your exercises may include:
Use of small weights and resistance therapy bands
Regaining strength through weighted or resistance exercise. Stronger muscles mean better support. Along with strengthening your muscles, you can improve how your muscles work together and with the rest of your body to help with balance, movement and coordination. Better balance and coordination will help prevent falls and get you back moving around.
Balance exercises using a balance ball
Another great tool to help with balance and coordination is with the use of an exercise ball. While doing your exercises on the ball, this also helps wake up and train those little stabilizer muscles along your spine and throughout your body. The stronger and more responsive those little muscles are, the better control and balance you will have. This will also help to prevent future injuries and relapses.
