Physiotherapy Exercise Rehabilitation

At Cedar Chiropractic & Physiotherapy, one of our goals is to help keep you MOVING LONGER & MOVING STRONGER. We are pleased to provide you with a physiotherapy exercise rehabilitation program as a vital part of your care.

The focus of this program is to help you heal from injury by:

  • retraining and correcting movement patterns
  • as well as correcting posture and breathing patterns that have lost their natural flow due to daily stress, poor habits and physical or mental trauma

How To Get Started

Your physiotherapists and support team are experts in identifying these faulty patterns. They can help restore your body’s natural fluidity with a number of different exercises, strengthening your mind-body connection.

You can get started by scheduling an Initial Physiotherapy Assessment.

What Happens During Your Physio Exercise Rehab Session

During your physio exercise rehab program with your physiotherapy assistant, some of your exercises may include:

Use of small weights and resistance therapy bands

Regaining strength through weighted or resistance exercise. Stronger muscles mean better support. Along with strengthening your muscles, you can improve how your muscles work together and with the rest of your body to help with balance, movement and coordination. Better balance and coordination will help prevent falls and get you back moving around.

Balance exercises using a balance ball

Another great tool to help with balance and coordination is with the use of an exercise ball. While doing your exercises on the ball, this also helps wake up and train those little stabilizer muscles along your spine and throughout your body. The stronger and more responsive those little muscles are, the better control and balance you will have. This will also help to prevent future injuries and relapses.

Clinical pilates exercises

Clinical pilates has many great movement therapies to help you lengthen stiff, tight areas. These clinical pilates exercises also have a key role in helping build strength and durability in your muscles. Some of the many benefits of clinical pilates include improved:

  • Balance
  • Breathing
  • Control
  • Flexibility
  • Posture
  • Strength

Clinical GYROTONIC® exercise

A series of movement exercises designed to complement your physiotherapy rehab program. GYROTONIC® exercise is performed on a custom-designed tower and the movements include circular and sweeping motions. Each move flows into the next allowing your joints to move through a natural range of motion, lubricating your entire joint surface without jarring or compression. The sequences creates balance, flexibility and elongation of your spine. This ultimately enhances your body’s awareness of the “core” of your body.

Patient Story

She also gave me some incredible new exercises no one had ever shown me before. I found her knowledge to be cutting edge and her personality is so positive that I left feeling very hopeful in my usually hopeless situation. The desk staff is incredibly kind and helpful and welcoming also. I highly recommend this place!!
