Natalie Law
Acupuncturist
Natalie is a registered acupuncturist in BC. She is experienced in geriatrics and pain disorders due to sports injuries, overuse or motor vehicle accidents. She provides comprehensive and rehabilitative treatment using scalp acupuncture, electro-acupuncture and TCM Tuina for common chronic diseases in seniors such as stroke, atrophy, joint disorder, cognitive disorder, immobility and pain. She previously completed her practicum in care homes during her study and subsequently volunteered at these care homes to treat elderly patients, also providing home visits to the elderly and stroke patients.
Collaborative approach
She believes that the combination of western medicine and TCM acupuncture treatment helps to speed up a patient’s recovery. She works closely with physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals using scalp, facial acupuncture and Tuina technique to help patients with post stroke recovery and provides advice for family members caring for the patients.
History
Natalie is a sports lover including golf, snowboarding, badminton and water sports. She has participated in a marathon and short-distance triathlon, cycling and dance. She previously suffered from multiple sports injuries which were cured by combining physiotherapy and acupuncture. She understands how stressful pain caused by sports injuries can be. She provides treatment for patients with pain syndromes caused by sports injuries and motor vehicle accidents using acupuncture, ESTM, TCM Tuina and cupping methods.
Areas of care
Her practice of acupuncture in Burnaby includes internal conditions and stress related issues causing menstruation problems, insomnia, eczema, digestive problems and post-partum recovery. Natalie is an attentive listener as well as being very talkative. She loves communicating with patients to discover their true internal problems during their assessment, and to then formulate the most suitable treatment for them. In addition, she hopes to relieve patient’s stress with her cheerful personality during their treatment sessions.
Education
Natalie completed a certificate in the Foundations of Acupuncture at the University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education. Subsequently, she finished her Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and become a registered acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of BC. With her passion in TCM Tuina massage and post-partum recovery, she also obtained her certificate in TCM Tuina issued by the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Society (WFCMS). She has also completed training in pelvis and pubis correction, Balinese Belly Binding from the TQUK and a TCM Postpartum Recovery Certificate from the Training Center of China Management Science Society.
Leisure
In her spare time, she enjoys doing various outdoor activities with family and friends. These include snowboarding and badminton in the winter, and golfing, fishing, camping and cycling in the summer. She used to dance the Argentine tango and played the bandoneon (a musical instrument for the Argentine tango) during her free time.
